The study’s primary focus was examining the impact of chronic pain on academic performance among university students. Another variable of interest for this study was relationships and whether or not having a romantic partner plays a role in the pain experience and academic performance. Emerging adults (aged 18-29) are not often the focus of chronic pain research, so we were interested to see how these factors interact in order to better understand the experiences of this population.
